From Windsor Beginnings to Mediterranean Dreams
I was born in 1970 just around the corner from Windsor Castle. Strangely enough, I didn’t head straight to the castle on leaving the hospital, and at only three days old, any semblance of my royal life ended!
In 1984, my parents made a life-changing decision: to move to the Costa Brava, a part of Spain they had both fallen in love with and where we had spent every family holiday. That move shaped my life, leading me to spend over thirty years living in Spain, becoming fluent in Spanish, and embracing the Mediterranean lifestyle.
A Life Between Spain and England
Today, I live with one foot in each country.
Life in England
In Buckinghamshire, I call a quaint English village home, a place of stone cottages, flower-filled gardens, and of course the much-loved local pub. My parents also live here, and their love story of more than 60 years continues to inspire me every day.
Life in Spain
In Spain, I spend time with my daughters, their husbands, and my twin grandsons at our family home in a small Costa Brava village. Ours is a true international family, a wonderful blend of English, Spanish, Dutch, South African, and Andorran!
The Costa Brava holds countless memories: lively family meals on warm summer evenings, coastal walks with the scent of pine air, and blissful days spent at hidden coves along the rugged Mediterranean coastline.
My Quiet Moments of Inspiration
Whether in Spain or in England, you’ll often find me sewing, “magic glasses” perched on my nose and a large glass of white wine beside me.
During these quiet moments, my thoughts turn to the couples who have chosen me as their celebrant. I revisit our conversations: how they met, when they fell in love, and the little things they adore about each other.
